Due to the constant threat of spam targeted at forums all over the internet, we now have new moderation rules in place to combat human spammers.

Please note the following - Members will not be permitted to add a link (eg www.selfsufficientme.com) anywhere on the forum or create a signature until the following criteria is met:
  • Member has posted 5 or more messages.
  • Member has received at least 1 "like".
  • Member has been registered for at least 3 days.
After the above criteria is met, the restriction will be lifted and the member will be awarded the Member Moderation Lifted trophy.

If a member tries to include a link or create a signature before they have met the criteria above they will simply receive a pop-up message stating why the link/signature was not allowed.

@JP 1983 I think it got lifted as it had issues, but I'd have to check with Mark if it really proves an issue. It used to be that people couldn't upload images, or anything of the likes. But since we've had little spam - knock on wood - we lifted, or better said changed, some restrictions. Hence why you are now able to edit your articles indefinitely, as that had a limited timer in the past as well.

Excellent

ot allowed.

I discovered the videos of Self-sufficient Me by accident but I have really enjoyed watching them. I live in south Georgia, USA, which is a sub-tropical environment so I can relate to a lot of what Mark says. I don't know where to get some of the plants that he grows. I was surprised to see Meyer's Lemons in the Citrus video. I have two trees that are prolific.
I look forward to learning more from this site.
