My Pekins have a bath in the pen and a larger pond elsewhere when they free range.

I bet your ducks love those ponds!

So you've made one duck pond out of pond liner and the other is a mould is that correct? Do they have drains or how do you clean them out?

The bath dug in is a great idea and you've actually given me some ideas for my own pen. ATM I have an internal raised pond which is good but I also have two containers for the ducks for easy access next to their feeder and I was thinking of a better set-up instead of washing their large bucket out each day I might dig it in at ground level (like you've done with your tub) and put a drain in it piped out for easy emptying and cleaning.

I have 6 Pekins and I'm really fond of them - previously we started with Khaki Campbells but I prefer the Pekins.

I don't fully drain the ponds, but they get flushed once a week. This seems to work well and feeds the fruit trees as well.

The twin pond is fibre glass at top and the bottom is heavy duty black plastic about 1mm thick. I don't think it is actually meant to be a pond liner.
Everything is recycled , you have to love other peoples rubbish.:)My Ducks My Ducks My Ducks

I like how your wonderfully fertile duck water (I call it duck juice) is leached out to your fruit and veg crops - excellent!

Unfortunately, my duck/chicken pen is down the back and away from my main garden so I have to manually cart the "duck juice" back up the hill. I do have a small pump but I haven't tried pumping the water out that far yet - will do though.

I like to recycle things too it amazing what good building materials people throw away.

Nice pics

Mark I should have added that its easy to shovel out the muck monthly and then mix into any holes dug for planting.
I also dress the fruit trees with it and hand water it in.
Smelly black gold:censored:
