Just went to their website today to prep my summer order and alas the good folks their have retired and the shop is closed. I loved their range of seeds and live plants, many were hard to find elsewhere online.

My query is does anyone here happen to know of an online seller of seeds and live veggie seedling plants based in qld??

I don't know about QLD owned and located, but I absolutely love The Seed Collection, which is based in Victoria. I've dealt with them a number of times, and have had great results most of the times (the bad results might've simply been me, as I'm still learning - but they've been great!).

Mandy,

Thanks for that info much appreciated. I have already been looking around and I will give the seed collection a look.Green Harvest was great for my climate because they had a lot of plants suited to the hot and humid, they will be missed.

I'm sure more people will miss them.

What I like about the Seed Collection is that they have an option to look for plants suitable to your climate. It helps a lot when looking to broaden your horizons, as it can show you results that might surprise you.

I've ordered from Eden Seeds a couple of times, but as I live remote and have a love of the unusual, I have to order a lot of the seeds and plants I'm interested in online from all over the country, so I barely even pay attention to where most companies are beyond knowing they're in Australia and they can ship what I want to me. 🤷‍♀️

Hmm... got me thinking... @Mandy Onderwater would it be distasteful or inappropriate to set up a specific conversation or page or article or something on this site that's easy for people to find, where site members can discuss POSITIVE ONLY reviews and recommendations of gardening/self-sufficiency related companies/businesses/products in their area, maybe divide it by country/state/location. That way when someone has a question like this, they can look up what products and services other people on this site that are in their area have used and found worthwhile, because sometimes it's hard to fish the good catches from the scams and fake reviews when looking online, and having a bunch of other people on a site like this that you know are genuine gardeners confirm that something does exist and is worthwhile can help heaps. Especially with finding those little family run companies that do something small and unique, like the prong, and other such niche specialities. What do you think???

@Grandmother Goose we could start a thread in Business, Places, Events I suppose. It's not a topic that is too popular surprisingly, as many people prefer going to local stores and nurseries. But having a list of places that the community likes could be quite lovely. I'm quite hesitant ordering online myself, possibly because you never know what you're going to get.
