These are my first lot of steers...

Tank I got to put molasses in holds 1000L of water but molasses is very heavy so I only put in 800L. I use molasses as the cattle love it a bit like you and I eating ice-cream. I now call them up and they come straight away no need to round them up over 40 acres of hilly country.

The cattle look healthy that's for sure and still plenty of green grass.

I remember helping feed the pigs at my uncles farm and he used to feed them molasses - they loved it too. It's a good plan whenever you need to round them up just bring out the sweet stuff!

How many head have you got at the moment?

At this time I have 32 head it has been a good winter fair bit of rain and green grass around. But in saying that the last 6 weeks has been dry so I should drop back to about 25 head. I will be getting rid of some of my cattle at Xmas time.
