Looks very similar to the mini cues I had growing last summer.

Did you buy the seed, what type is it? inquiring mind needs to know

We planted some cheap seedlings (Mexican Mini Cues) we bought from one of the big box hardware stores in Aust as a tester.

To be honest, I didn't enjoy the taste of them and they spread like something from Day of the Triffids without producing that much fruit....so they got the heave ho from the patch..

LMAO I can't even see where it is in the earth but it has taken over about 12 feet of fence

Happy Gardening !

Yes, they seem to be those mini Mexican Cucumbers. I tried these for the first time this year, very slow to start off indeed, they are just starting to hold onto their trellis, still tiny, but the end product I saw used on a cookerey program looked like those in the photos. I am not holding my breath for a huge success.

Thanks for your insight, GKW and Simone. I found an article from Texas Parks and Wildlife that warned to only eat when green. Once they turn purple, they act ''as a laxative without warning''. Needless to say, I won't go out of y way for these.
