I have a few strawberry plants in pots that are growing runners. Any advice on how to get those runners to root?

Put another pot adjacent and train the runners onto the dirt. They'll root themselves right quick. The young runners kinda need nutrition from mum and dad for a bit, but once their roots strike and they establish themselves you can give the parents the snip.

Just keep in mind the more runners you have going off a plant, the smaller the strawberries will be. Those runners are using up a lot of energy! If your plants are flowering prolifically due to a good season, cull the majority of the runners until after your fruit is ripe.

Thank you I set up a few small pots this morning around the main plants. I’m assuming I should keep the small pots soil a little moist for roots to set?

Yep, or a thin coat of mulch to retain the moisure, then coax the runner under the mulch layer till they start shooting up leaves.

You can also train the runners around the inside of the rim of the parent pot and let them sprout there and replant, or even let them stay there for next year after the parent plant dies off itself. Hence the eternally perpetuating strawberry. Just remember to feed them in flowering season and you'll have pot-grown strawberries for the rest of your life.
