Competition Time! WIN $50 in PayPal CASH or a Booktopia voucher of the same value! The prize will be emailed direct to your inbox:twothumbsup:

SSC values its members support and a knowledge based online community like ours will always do better if members are prepared to share their knowledge and interact with each other.

Therefore, to give something back to our community, reward effort, and just for fun, we are announcing this new competition open to Premium Member (GOLD).

To enter all you have to do is be logged in and answer our knowledge based question.

The winner will be drawn at random upon closing from the pool of correct answers using our forum software.

Only Premium Members with a GOLD banner will be permitted to view the question or enter this competition (more about GOLD here).

Membership on SSC is completely free so join us now.

Good Luck ;)

P.S Just for info: Revenue raised on SSC through advertising and affiliates helps to pay for competition prizes. We prefer to run competitions for our members rather than use this money to promote our websites via paid advertising.

The winner was @Steve everyone! :popcork:

I don't know why the system didn't post the winner in this thread - it's supposed to - but anyway I'll be contacting Steve via our internal messaging to send him his prize.

Just for info, there were 7 entries and all were correct. Steve was randomly selected by the program - for the record, I can't manipulate the program to change results etc.

Once we grow more members with "Gold" banner we can start making a 2nd or perhaps even 3rd place for comps.

Thanks mate, that's just awesome.
I'll need to find something special to spend that on around the new house instead of just letting it get absorbed into the 'project'.
Best-Website-Ever!

I dont like it @Ash, not so much the cold but the short days.
I leave for work and it's dark....I get home from work and it's dark. The only time i get to see anything outside of my house is on the weekends! Roll on SPRING i say :cheer:

I know what you mean Steve. It can be depressing and I feel for those in the far Northern Hemisphere in their winters. There is such a thing as the winter blues.

Mark, we've had an extremely windy couple of weeks, but this may just be because we've spent our first winter at our home on the rural block and we are subject to winds picking up from the western valley. There are going to have to be some structural changes to our home if we're going to get a decent night's sleep on those windy days!

Hubby agree's with you totally Steve. I'm still snoozing when he leaves for work before 6 and it's just about dark at 5:15 when he gets home. Oh well on the positive, the winter solstice is behind us so it's all down hill into summer which means more growth in veggie gardens, spring lambs (which I'm hoping to get this year), and chickens happy to lay more often. Oh and more daylight before and after work. Bring it on ! ! ! !
