Climate
Temperate (all seasons)
Hi

I live near the ocean just south in Mandurah in Western Australia and I'm struggling to find the USDA equivalent zone that I would be in. I keep hearing that my area is similar to a Mediterranean climate which I love but would like to know what zone that is when I'm watching American videos to get the best results.

Cheers

Paul

I'm unsure myself but @JP 1983 is usually right on with his information. If you're looking for what kind of climate you might in the website in this post could help you out. It's not perfect, but it's helped me significantly as well;

I recently came across this image which might help a little bit. It shows latitude comparison which isn't perfect because it doesn't take into account things like mountainswhich affects rainfall, which makes wet and dry zones, which affects minimum and maximum temperatures, nor any other things that need to be taken into account such as elevation above sea level, pollution, wind directions, proximity to large water bodies, etc. But being able to understand latitude is a good place to start. Perth would probably be more like El Paso than Savanna due to being further west, and thus dryer, and thus a bit hotter in summer and cooler in winter. For the same reason, Adelaide would be more like Alburquerque than Charlotte; Melbourne more like Richmond than San Fran. Launceston is on the same line but gets a lot less snow than both NY and Salt Lake.
