Hi everyone,

I recently experienced some water damage in my home due to a burst pipe and I'm looking for advice on choosing the right water damage restoration service. There seem to be so many companies offering these services, and I’m not sure where to start.

What should I look for in a reliable company? Are certifications or certain equipment important? Also, if anyone has personal experiences or recommendations, I’d appreciate it! How long does the process usually take, and what are the typical costs involved?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Ohhh, that's horrible.

If your home is insured, I'd check with insurance first as not all companies are covered. My parents just had water damage from their upstairs neighbour (apartment complex) who had a leak. Thankfully HIS insurance will cover it all.
I (luckily) don't know, as we've not had any leaks here. I could recommend a sparky, but he's local only so I don't think you have use for them ;)

...and there it is. I really wondered whether victorjessie was a spammer, given all the questions with no followups, and sure enough that one has a spam link embedded in it on the words "water damage". Probably best to terminate that account as it's only going to post more messages full of spam links to try to drive up traffic to whatever sites are paying them.

Good catch @Berkeloid . I've put him on a watchlist. I haven't done a straight ban, just in hopes that it was an accident, but we'll see. I think the responses to his content are useful, more than anything.
I've placed a public warning on his account that will show up on his posts. We'll see what time brings us.
