I know you pointed this out prior. I just didn't know/retained the part where (where you live) pallets for food are always certified food-safe. It makes sense though.

many of the standards used here have been adopted from other countries and a few for usa have been put in place adobted so item could be shipped overseas as well but it is know in many countries that ceritfications are falsified so you will see reputable makers also burned their company name logo and number into pallets in often hidden places. My cousins owns a small pallet company and all his pallets have his logo laser marked into one side rail and it you dissasemble the pallet under one of the top slats is also his laser burned marking. it has gotten so bad for false documents that on food safe equipment they have talked of imbedding encoded chips that can be source tracked. ANd as for shipping and handling the EFSA has stricker food and food handling laws then the usa including food sourcing to insure they are not from areas know to have chemical contamination issues.
just make sure they have the mark on them of food grade approved, the recycles plastic pallets can be any composite make up and are not alwasy food or environmentally safe.
here are logos to look for or look for actual efsa or fda marking, the FDA logo is blue, and blue is often synonymous with clean or pure. or look for a label or logo that refers to ISMP 15 certified
