I've read several places that before pruning, garden sheers should be sanitized. Or if you cut a plant back that isn't doing well, you need to sanitize before cutting something else to prevent spreading bad stuff/bugs. Does anyone do this? If so, how do you do it? TIA!

For tree work we clean our equipment in between trees or shrubs with detol, just a spray as used in the kitchen.
For larger equipment like rototillers and ground breakers we presure wash to avoid spreading invasive species like quack grass.
It won't hurt to clean... The reverse risk is higher

I just use rubbing alcohol on hand pruners and such.

I spent a summer working as a landscape labourer. For the pruners and loppers, if we were dealing with a diseased plant, we dipped them in a bleach solution between cuts. That was about 25 years ago. I never did the mixing, so I can’t say what sort of ratio it was.
