Thought I’d post this pic.
My male fruit fly traps arrived the other day as I wanted a head start in the fruit fly season this year even. I have also continued to lose chillis over autumn (though not as many as summer). I put one trap out thinking I would apply spinosad at the site of the first trapped male. Even though it’s still mid winter I thought I’d get in early. The trap has been out for 1/2 a day and I’ve already trapped 15! In the middle of winter! QLD fruitfly definatley not just a summer prob in my area. Hopefully catching males now will slow down the army of fruit flies in the warmer months. Maybe this winter trapping is a good strategy in general. Looks like I’ll be applying spinosad this weekend!
