Love Mark's videos and his famous "You don't have to be self-sufficient in everything… Just be self-sufficient in something!" quote :-).
Newbie gardener trying to be self sufficient. Forum looks like a fun and positive place!
Latest excite: covered spare tables with plastic table cloth (to water-proof it) and put pots on it => wallah, it's a raised garden bed . so far in it: with results: chillies and spring onions. still growing: bitter gourds and ginger and sweet potato.

Good night all.

Welcome to the forum @unicourse ! :D

That's pretty good thinking! I'm doing the same myself with those metal tables and chairs that people were going to bring to the dump. They are still perfectly fine tables and chairs, just the paint might be chipping. But the garden doesn't care ;)

thanks! so far it's been relatively easy to stop the snails to get to the "on-table" raised garden beds, coz they snails would need to climb the table before getting to the pots, and i think that's why i see much less of them . sorry but i really dont like snails (how they destroy the crops!).

Haha I hear you. As a child I loved snails, as they felt whimsical and fairy-like. But now that I'm growing plants, not so much. Thankfully there are no snails where I live now - or at least, I haven't seen any in the almost 5 years that I've been here.
I wonder if the plastic cloth you put on the table also works as a mild repellant. They really would have to make the trek up and around before they could access your plants; they might simply not consider it to be worth the effort.

Ah yeah, looks pretty good mate!
I've yet to do the mowing around the patio, or I'd snip some pictures here. Right now it looks like an overgrown mess here
