so if you happen to go back and look at photos recently at the herbs i trimmed , in the back ground you may have noticed an inconspicuous tomato started ( the monster ) is my nick name for it.
for a reference the small white circular covers are a bit over 3 inches in diameter the hub on bottom fits nicely into a rough cut 2 inch hole sawed hole in lid. i will lift lid tomoor and see what the root mass looks like and snap a couple pictures

may 21st , then june 1st when i clipped herbs back , and a few today the picture on. The 21st i think that plant was about 4 weeks old i forgot to write down the day i started it i know it was around or slightly mid April

That really is a monster Dave! For 5 weeks it's quite large!
ya its almost 6 weeks but this is the style that stays short squat and heavy the tiny tim tomato same as this single plant from oct 2022 and still bearing tomatoes like a champ it just decided it was going to inhabit more side to side space, was in pruning back the dead branches and bad tips yesterday its still a beast at 1 year and 8 month of age im keepng it going in the hydropnics just to see how long it stays viable i dont add nutrint ever time i top up the water i alternate every other time and depends what i see to EC of the water im also thinking i have probably built up various mineral salts in the containt from the nutrients so may attempt to slide the whole container out empty it rinsheand top up with fresh solution, not really top up but add a few gallons its at a pint most of the plants roots fill the container, doubtful i would eve be able to remove it through the 2 inch hole in the lid

Thats one impressive plant! How continuous is the yield? I'm hoping my little tomatoes do half as well!
yield depends how often i forget to check to polinate the flowers. and it does change slightly as i add water , can vary 4 or 5 every 3 to 4 days days other times 6 to 10 ever other day , it is gettng old for a plant but i want to keel it goint as long as i can to see how it does, i need to make a ring of mesh to support it i should have slid it into a 5 gallon pail with the net pot lid i will do that to the newest one need to get back to my plan area in loft and do some there but leg botrhger enough i dont feel like climbing and i need to run pipes up so i have a stright up water supply instead of lug buckets up

i had bought some of the pvc coated fencing and cut it so it would fit the top of the 5 gallon pail lid a few years back snipped a piece long enough to make a hoop to sit on lid 3 wires looped around a couple holes in lid to hold the fencing attaching a few pics on old bucke lps with hoop attached tat got a bout 5 years use on it right now
lids i used were made by viagrow and i purchased from homedepot looks like the no long carry seperate lids Viagrow 6 in. heavy duty wide lip mesh pot bucket lid Product Information Internet # 301463754 Model # V6ML Store SKU # 1003837735. can ask at store you work at if dropped discontinued or just out of stock i guess
