In this wonderful video Mark shows us what he's got growing in his garden as of March 2025. Some plants have only just started, and some are at the end of their growth, with the changing seasons.
The first row of raised bed start with:
1. Betel leaf, garlic, Chinese keys, turmeric, ground nut, cucumber and tomato.
2. Rosella, spaghetti squash and zucchini.
3. The electroculture experiment bed; eggplant and chilies.
4. Eggplant, turmeric, ginger, asparagus pea, sweet potato and cucumbers.
In the second row of raised beds:
1. Mark shows us another raised bed that was infested with nut grass weeds, so he's experimenting on how to kill it. On this bed he explains that he's using some clear pvc plastic in attempt to solarise the bed. He sprayed the soil with vinegar after cutting the grass back.
2. Garlic.
In the third row of raised beds, the long skinny beds:
1. Mark shows us a currently empty bed, which had some globe artichoke in it, but it's died back with the high humidity and Summer heat.
2. Garlic chives, potato.
3. Corn, cherry tomato.
4.Purple yam, Jerusalem artichoke, Egyptian spinach, turmeric.
In the fourth area Mark has a variety of raised beds and tubs/half barrels:
1. Eggplant, Egyptian spinach.
2, 3, 4, and 5. Strawberry.
6. Taro.
7. Parsley.
8. Garlic chives, verbena.
9. Sweet potato.
10. Mint
10. Tomarillo.
11. Capsicum, sweet pepper
The fifth row, and the centre of the veggie garden:
1. Taro.
2. The bed is resting.
3. The control bed of the electro experiment; Corn, eggplant, chilies
4. Dwarf beans, lettuce
5. Passionfruit
In the sixth row, the gourd tunnel:
Tomato, pumpkin, salad crops, eggplant.
The seventh row, the back of the veggie garden, which tends to be boggy. It contains raised beds and tubs:
1. Resting raised bed, full of manure.
2. Water chestnut.
3. Elephant yam.
4, 5, 6: Currently empty, ready for Winter crops.
7. Pickling cucumbers.
7. Sweet potato.
8. Asparagus.
9. Blueberries.
10. Dwarf coconut.
11. Raspberry.
12. Logan berry
The eighth and last row of raised beds and in-ground grown plants:
1. Bananas, grown in-ground.
2. Eggplant.
3. Yakon.
4. Purple yam, horned cucumber.
5, 6. Empty raised beds.
Of course, a better way of viewing his garden is by using Mark's new garden planner. He has uploaded his raised beds and what is currently growing in them. I highly recommend checking it out, and perhaps even using it yourself. There is even a planting time-table Mark has made regarding his garden as to when he sowed the plants and when he harvested them.
