Wish I could help you, but I'm sadly very uninformed on this topic.

One thing that does often get overlooked is maintenance, yet it's so important. My grandmother had her boiler literally blow up one year. We were lucky no one got harmed, and that damage was minimal.

Disadvantage of being Australian, it doesn't get cold enough for long enough for any of us to consider investing in such things, so haven't a clue. Sorry.
