Name that pest

Any clue as to what this is? I was cleaning the chicken coop this weekend and there were about a half dozen of them in the old litter (shavings).

It's hard to see but... maybe a larder or hide beetle larvae?

Interesting, but none of them were fuzzy. They are also quite small, less than 1/4" long, but it sounds like you might be in the right neighborhood!

Looks like a Leatherjacket but too dark. Whatever it is it did well to survive in a chicken coup!
