Hi everyone, I have just joined this forum and thought I would give a little before asking questions. In a former life I was a Navy photographer for 14 years so have picked up a tip here and a trick there. I'm happy to share my knowledge so if you have any questions about photography, please feel free to ask. I don't profess to know everything but if I can help in any small way I'm happy to.

G'Day and welcome.

It's a great forum for sharing ideas and information. Dive on in.

Post some of your fav pics (and maybe some background to them) when you have time.

We look forward to your input on photography Paulphot.
There's even a section in this forum about taking photos.

Welcome, ask lots of questions, this forum is always ready to help and we all learn when questions are asked. :)

Paul, I will be keen to follow your photography hints - another skill I hope to develop. Thanks for your offer. Incidentally, you will observe there are quite a few ex-military in the group.

Look forward to seeing some more of your photos Paul I too would like to learn more about photography but the time never seems to be right . Very nice one photo of the lighthouse. Dave

This is a photo I got to take while in South Africa a few years ago. We only had the one shark and this is as close as she got but I think the murkiness (is that even a word?) gives it a good feel.

Hi Paul, I love that photo, and the Lighthouse too.
I too had the chance to swim with a big one, a true "bucket list" item was to swim with this Whale Shark off Exmouth WA last June.
Magnificent creatures.

Hi 67HR, that is a beautiful photo. It must have been an extrordinary feeling seeing that beautiful creature emerging out of the distance, you can never really feel the size unless you are there in real life.

Hi Paul, yes it was, this one was well over 6mt (18+ft). It was a tiring day, we were in a 1-1.5mt swell for about 6 hrs
