Home Made Heat Lamp

Made from an old pot cut down works great just taped up the drain holes. Free box from woolies heavy duty pumpkin box not long now ? How long before I can put then in the big pen anyone know?

This is great Cam and it shows how you don't have to get elaborate or spend lots of money to make a brooder. Good job :twothumbsup:

How is the light (heat lamp) positioned inside the pot - I mean, how is it fixed? And, is the floor duct tape with saw dust as a litter?

The chicks look right at home and comfy :)

yeah i used an old pot plant pot drilled a hole in the end and drilled a hole in the cardboard box and put light fitting through then put the bulb in. its warm but nothing gets hot perfect it has a cardboard base and i put shavings in every couple days.free shavings from sawmill that will eventually go into compost heap

Nice. Free shavings is a bonus - wood shavings cost quite a bit from our local pet store (they sell it for guinea pigs) no way would I ever buy it at the prices they sell it for... Are the hatch-lings from your hens?
