    G'Day Daniel and welcome.

Have you found a discernible different (in your location) in what grows and how between the two different sites given different altitudes?

Post some pics when you can.

    Best wishes

    Greg

    Hi Greg
Soil types are quite different in the mountain I have acid soil PH 5 -5.5 and down i have 6 - 6.5. In the mountains it is some Degrees colder but sunny and down it is warmer but more misty.
As I only garden on 400 meters can't say how it would be in the mountain.
In the moment I'm testing with about 15 species of berries in the mountain to see what will work there.
And I pruned about 150 fruit trees to use about 30 in the mountain.
    Pics will follow.
    Daniel

No it is more cold humid, but we also have some milder winters, hotter summer and some storms the last years.
More bugs as they don't die in Winter, and the local trees and shrubs get to draught in summer.
But Nothing in comparison with Australia.
    Cheers Dani

Have noticed the same here the bugs are still hanging on through winter as it's not cold enough anymore to kill them off and that gives them a head start in the warmer weather. Dave

    G'Day Daniel,

Looks like a great part of the world to live it. Great backyard garden pics. Love the traditional hugelkultur mounds.

Do you find any difference in what you can grow and / or how well fruits and vegs grow in the mound as opposed to wooden raised bed?

I like more the wooden raised beds to cultivate vegies, the hugelkultur mounds are used on top for berries and for herbs in the under sections. Carrots and parsnip go better in the raised beds but may be my soil layer on the hugelkultur are to thin. In my opinion the raised beds are the better choice for us. Anyhow I also did fill the raised beds like a hugelkultur.

    Welcome Daniel!

What a picturesque place you have... wow.

Nina and I visited Geneva in August last year driving through Switzerland from France and then onto Italy it was beautiful :)
