Hi everyone,
I would describe myself as a keen but easily distracted gardener. I live south of Brisbane with my partner Jess, and our 3 kelpies and we love to garden. She seems to have filled our home with house with plants so there is just no escaping em. I stumbled across this page and knew Mark from his YouTube channel. So I knew it was the right place for us to to learn and expand our garden. We live on a combination of clay and shale so gardening has been a challenge but we are rising to that challenge. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge and becoming part of this little community

Welcome to the forum @Incy and Jess.

Some people love starting with clay and shale. I've heard that shale contains lots of minerals which the plants can absorb over time.
I myself live on rocky clay soil, in a valley. We have lessened sunlight because of a mountain on either side, though I don't think it affects much.

Are you more keen on indoor or outdoor plants? What sort of vegetation do you wish to grow (think; trees, bushes, vegetables, fruit, flowers, decorative, or things that smell good)? Or perhaps a whopping combination of multiple. Knowing a little about your situation and your interests can definitely help us point you in the right directions.

We're also most happy to see what you've been doing! There are members on here who keep a gardening diary, and it allows them to look back and see how they've progressed over the years. Plus members can comment with ideas, problem solving and/or get inspired themselves ;)
