Hi All, Have been watching the u-tube channel for ages and think it's great.
Where I am we have the best weather, nice and hot in summer and damn cold in winter. T
This year we had nice cool summer of 46C - people in Perth cooked and looks like the winter might be a warm one, don't think it's got below 2c yet.

Anyway now to read some of the posts here

Yeah it can get that way. We can average mid 40 for a couple of weeks at a time
Makes the garden look a bit sad but it ostly survives

Welcome to the forum Eddie. Feel free to ask questions and bounce ideas off. Remember a picture always help.

I regards to the temperatures in WA, I can remember an episode of Gardening Australia (10-12 years ago) that showed a lady being off grid in the WA bush with a self sustainable garden including water collecting and composting. This lady build an outer fence of chicken wire to keep the wild life out and the used shade cloth to protect the veggie garden from the sun and wind.

Anyway just some memories coming back

yeah we can get that way here, Rabbits, foxes and the parrots are our main pests on the edge of town. But the parrots are moving in closer. They decimate the almond tree out the back and the guava's as well. They didn't get my mangos this year and nor did the fruit fly.
Snails are the normal pest that everyone gets and they don't leave me alone either, but this year they haven't been as busy - yet, probably shouldn't have said anything hey!!

Hi from Boddington, WA!
How was the lack of rain this year, though! I've never seen it so dry, we ran out of tank water well before it started raining. Hopefully we don't have a repeat of that next year!
And don't get me started on those pesky 28s! We get so many here - they destroy all the fruit off my trees, I swear most the time they're not even hungry, just bored...

the last month has been wet and the last rains we had earlier this week are just coming down the river which is great for the Avon decent this weekend.
Nice sunny day for the start.
The 28's are a pain for the garden but the coella's are a pain to the ears. We have flocks of 2000+ birds flying around, and whenthey land in the trees they break branches and just strip the folage. I think we are going to ahve to cull them soon as they strip everything including the ovals.
