Hi Mark, and other forum members.
I'ts about 20 years since I've gardened, I won't bore you with why but have time on my hands now.
As we are "house bound" I decided to put a garden back in and stumbled across you site looking for info on raised beds. Mark you've inspired me and you're doing an excellent job, I wish I had your energy. I'm retired now and live on 3 acres A life time in the building associated trades has left me with enough materials stored away to build my beds. I filled the bottom of the beds with logs then wood mulch (hugelkultur) , leaving about 30cm for the soil. The bed are 3.3mtL x 85cm H x 75cmW .
The only purchase so far has been the Veggie mix soil (3 loads) I've had to fence my plot to keep our local hopping friends from helping themselves. I have seedlings ready to go in.
Regards Trev

Hi! I'm Lisa from Kalgoorlie. Its so nice to see a post from someone close by.
Your garden beds look great, I love the idea of the beds being in an outdoor room, the door I just tops it :)
I have 3 little stratco beds to play in and I didnt realise how much I enjoyed it.

Hi Lisa, We're nearly neighbours. Lol. Thanks for your reply and comments. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.
The door was an old display from years ago. I've bought the following seedlings, Red onions, Broccoli, carrots. I'm not sure how they will go this late in the season. I'm looking for Parsnip which should do well in our cooler season. But looking forward to plant in the spring.

Well, much has happened since my last post. After getting the beds established and going. My hip crumbled and I found it hard to do much, plus winter kept me indoors.
7 weeks ago I had my replacement done and I'm back into gardening without the need of my crutches to hinder me.

I was able to get a good feed of broccoli, beetroot, lettuce & carrots from my first attempt. Although the carrots grew little side legs which I think is either a deficiency or too much of one particular mineral.

Current status
I raised two types of tomatoes one is (big beef) from seed and are now planted out.
I've planted more carrots, capsicums & lettuce all direct seeded. The Capsicum's & lettuce are in seed trays.

I'll try to keep up to date with post & questions from now on.
Trev
