My name is Naomi, I live in tropical Queensland. I started my vegetable garden this year.
Beetroot! It all started with Beetroot, trying to find decent tined beetroot in the super markets was/is impossible, so I decided to grow it at home now I have so many seedlings/plants started I'm now growing some in pot 🤣
I've also added fruiting plants suitable for pots.
I love looking for new vegetables to try growing but I have to stop myself. (Just quietly I think I'm driving my husband nuts with it all 😁)

Welcome to the forum @Naomi Smith !

That's very exciting! Nothing like growing something at home. On top of that, you can control what toxins might come in contact with your plants (pesticides, for example).
And don't worry. Once he tastes the fruits of your labour, he might suddenly become very supportive ;)

I can't help but recommend growing beans and/or peas. They can grow relatively quickly and can produce lots of veggies. They're quite the hit with my family as you don't get them this fresh and crunchy in the supermarket.
*Edit: oops, I just recalled you are growing some. Good on you though!

Thank you for the welcome
I am currently growing peas, I tried beans but they didn't do so great, then died. I think I tried growing them to early. I also tried some corn twice with no success with both attempts, again I think I planted to early
My husband is being supportive, he's just not as enthusiastic about it all as I am, he really wanted crystal apple cucumbers so I got those. I also found green apple cucumbers so we're going to try them well as 🙂.
He is currently working on converting an old LG gas tank from a car into a veggie planter for me 😂 I can't wait till that's done and ready for planting

Sometimes it can be the weather, or pehaps too wet a soil. I know I killed my fair share of plants, especially when I started.

I've had apple cucumbers before! They're quite tasty. Mine were spiky, but I found that if you used a sponge and some water, they rubbed off like it was nothing.

Even if not enthused, I love that he's very supportive!

Welcome to the forum Naomi. Feel free to post pics of your gardening path, we like to see that on this forum.

Just keep in mind that when you have converted your old LPG tank to give it a good burn out to get rid of any left over residue that might be in the tank before planting anything in it.
