Pls help if you can
Got a couple of americanas and found red worm in feces...ugh gapeworm!
One of the girls drinks a ton of water and she seems to wheeze I believe she has the gapeworm.
Any wisdom on this?
Thnx

Sorry, not a clue. Most people I know would just put the chickens down sadly.
But the sooner you get onto it, the better.

I found this that might help?

I did read the article and watched some u tubers who say they have used a product called fenbendazole. I will start treatment today... from what i can see it is treatable but almost impossible to eradicate.
Thank you
Blessings to all

Good luck! Don't forget that they might already be sick, even if asymptomatic. But the sooner, the better. Hopefully all goes well...

They ARE sick. A gape worm lives in the throat if they're not treated they will suffocate I found the worm in the droppings from what I have read by the time you find it in the droppings the bird is riddled with them

My apologies for the misunderstanding. I meant that those among them that might not have shown symptoms (if that were the case).

I am very glad they are doing a lot better! I'm very happy for you and your chooks :D

Good on you, nayday. I have been away a long time and just returned so we are rebuilding our flock. They are so cute!
