Have started gathering materials for the kids big Xmas present this year.

4 2.7m sheets corro $149.60
2 6m ceiling battens $17.68
16 Lifespan metal handles $76.00 (paid for 8, parcel got lost - marked delivered {thanks to cameras courier company caught out} - Amazon resent, lost parcel magically surfaced a month later)
1 Lifespan telescope $14.00
1 Lifespan knotted rope $20.00
1 Lifespan Steering Wheel $17.99
1.5m³ Beach sand $210.00

Total - $2,459.85

Still to source
Letterbox ~$20

Fastener pricing will come at the end, the Scrooz order was ~$400 and a stock up event for me for stuff I regularly use along with the bolts I needed.

Scored a bundle (24 linear m) of RHS off FB around 1/3 the best online price I could find.

Poor ute (still under legal weight - it's lowered)

Haha, I was about to comment on the poor ute before I saw your last sentence! Poor thing, haha.
Sounds great! I'd love seeing it's progress along the line :D

Got some more materials today. Had to get things other than as planned due to shortages and prices have increased on the things I did get which is annoying but I needed to secure what I can now to make sure I can go through with the build. Just under $420 left in the budget with roof and side railing to go (~$300) and then some handles and attachments (steering wheel etc) for remaining. Definitely looking like we'll blow out the budget a little but in this instance for me its a matter of buy once, cry once.

Yeah, the 'rona has made some changes. Supplies can be harder/slower to get a hold of. I've heard many compagnies complain.

Last trip to bunnings today. Scrooz order on its way. Safe to say budget well and truly blown but still nowhere near the cost of a similar product. Updated price list (not looking forward to this lol) and some more pics tomorrow.

Please excuse the state of the shed, more shed = more mess atm. Impossible to get into it with 2 little kids underfoot.

Scrooz order - not all of these are for the build but prices too good to pass up. Much better pricing than the green shed so worth stocking up.

Just ordered some handles and accessories which will get it to a point where they'll have enough to do if I can't get anything else in time. Something like the letterbox doesn't have to go on immediately

Work is underway with a few delays.

I wrecked my back and was off work for a week.

My 20 year old welder packed it in, plus side I finally get my upgrade I've been longing for, down sides hit to wallet and waiting time.

Got some angle steel cut up ready to go and nowhere to dance. This means I will be cutting it very close to deadline, need no more issues

I hope you're okay now! Back issues are no joke...

With a side of sadness comes positivity. Let's get a shiny welder, haha!

Isn't the deadline what you make it? Or do you want it ready for the kids as a Christmas present? :P

Yes on the mend, 1 whole day without painkillers and none yet today. Really regretting not taking more care as an invincible teenager thats for sure. Back, Knee and Ears - I miss them all being 100%.

The deadline of Xmas is an absolute Mandy, after all I've spent this far I will be mega disappointed if I can't take them out the back and see their faces. This being the big prezzie also we won't have any backups 🥴

Ouch. Haha yeah I feel that. I'm 24 and have pretty serious back issues. I hope you've had the luxury of functional bodyparts for a longer time than I have!
Any long-lasting painkillers?

Ahh yeah I bet! I wish you good luck! And hopefully it's at least functional (even if not fully finished) so they have something. :D

I busted my knee (broke bone that holds knee cap together and medial meniscal tear) in 2012 at the grand old age of 21. Haven't ever recovered, can blow it out doing the simplest of tasks such as swinging into my seat on flight to US for honeymoon (wife and I were not impressed).

The back I was abusing long before that happened as a truck tyre fitter, often doing silly stuff like dead lifting 120kg of super singles to over shoulder height.

Ears got blasted from rattle guns and shotguns and inadequate hearing protection. I actually require hearing aids but can't justify the cost.

Given the injuries I've stacked on the kgs because it's hard to do intense exercise without risk of damage. I'll get there. 10mg of endone was making bearable for about 2 hours then wait for next lot in pain again. Waste of time nearly.

So yeah there's a great deal if anxiety riding in getting this done on time and without any additional injuries.

Oh no! Nothing that helps with that, like sports bandages and whatnot?

Haha oh no! Always showing off, huh? Can't say I haven't done my fair share of that.

Is there no compensation at all for hearing aids?

Oh wow, endone puts my partner flat out. Works like a charm for the ruptured disk in his back! I get sick on those bastards. They're meant to last 4 hours though, don't they? He's now on a longer lasting endone mix, I can't recall the name. Takes the pain almost completely away without the side-effects (like drunk/drowsy).

Remember to take a breath. A nice slow one, deep in, and out. Things will happen, good and bad. It's what you make of it that matters. :)

Goodness me this has one blocker after another

Fort Yeah MF - build thread.

Can't go to bunnings to claim warranty until my test results come back thanks to the positive case that came in to my place of work on Sunday. Irritating to say the least.

Please stay safe! Your health is much more important than some machinery or money! Though, I do hope they will help you out. You could always try contacting them, see what they suggest?
