Experiment with kale

Experiment. This is the time of the year here in Sweden when it gets darker and colder outside. But what if I put a pot in my lightest window and try out now? Well... That was 4 days ago. And you can probably guess my happiness when I saw this today.
It's a small victory. But now the real work begins.
How to keep this alive during the winter is not going to be easy this time of the year.

Just got home to Fredrik to give the plants some water and saw this!

Well done! You can also try some herbs (if you haven't already). Many of them tolerate indoor lighting and being in pots. Chives, mint, parsley, maybe thyme and oregano. Have fun with your new garden!

That was one thing I didn't know. Thank you!
I usually grow the herbs in the summertime and dry them during the winter. But it would be wonderful to have them all year long.

Its great that they have germinated so well.
However I think the amount of light coming through the window won't be enough without the input from a special growlight available at any hydroponics store.
But maybe due to the angle of your sun coming in the window, it will be ok.

That's the experiment. We do have a growinglight but we wanted to see what happened by just having the plants by the window. We also have another window with even more natural light in. And if the kale is going bad due to the lack of light we'll just move it and continue the experiment there.

Sorry for not updating this earlier. But I've been working a little to much...
The experiment is still going on.
But due to neglagation ( me working ) and lack of sunlight have made that only 9 plants have survived...
But they are growing strong.
So I still hope for some cale.

What variety of Kale are you growing?
Is it a cold area one like Russian Red?

i would let you know if you start getting leggy plants use a fan to strengthen there stems and slow upward growth
