Looking for some advice...

I have some green beans and chillis growing in pots. They're starting to develop a light bronze colour on the top and bottom of leaves. The leaves of the chilli plants are starting to curl slightly, but not all leaves and it's not affecting all plants. Has anyone had this issue or know what the issue might be? I'm also growing the same variety of green beans in my garden bed, and they are showing no signs of the leaf bronzing, only affecting the potted plants.

We had a small white fly issue but we got on top of that pretty quickly. Not even sure if they are related to the problems. Drainage of the affected plants is fine, and I don't think overwatering or underwatering is the problem. Beans have been producing up to this stage too. Chilli plants have flowered and look they they should start fruiting soon. I liquid fertilise with an organic fish based product once every two weeks and the plants get plenty of sun.

I'm not quite sure at this point and time, but first thing that came to mind... You fertilise the soil, right? You don't water over top of leaves as that could burn them and harm the plant.

We've figured it out Mandy. Turns out the only plants that are affected are the ones my darling partner treated with a home made spray for white fly. Happy it's not some sort of disease forming 😁

Yeah this is why I am very sparing of the white fly oil on my chillis. There are some fungi/moulds that love eating oil and they'll spring up on the leaves not long after you spray them. I just let the white flies do their worst - I'm only going to hack back my plants once they stop fruiting so a bit of leaf damage doesn't matter.

Plus, I introduced a few jumping spiders from my recent escapade to New England (brought a couple back with me in my bag of wattle seed - oops). You'd be amazed at how well 1 or 2 jumping spiders will utterly decimate flying bugs on your plants. You definitely want those little arachnids around your pots and shrubs to keep bug numbers down.
