they were bred from the University of New Mexico (NuMex) as an ornamentally plant not for their taste🤷♀️I see it scored relatively low in the taste rating. Why was that?

They are good and quite spicy (mine were quite extreme spicy) but tastewise nothing special.
There are no special citrus or fruity notes or something like that.
Ah that's fair. I've seen them in stores from time to time and wondered what their deal was. They do have an interesting and somewhat appealing appearance.
