Comfrey Plant

Comfrey plant for making comfrey tea to use as fertilizer or compost starter
Pros: Great for garden mulch, tea or compost
Cons: Needs lots of water, not native to my area
I bought some root cuttings myself. They haven’t come up yet. I saw several YouTube videos extolling the virtues of comfrey for the garden and home remedies. Supposedly your not a serious gardener unless you 1. Compost 2. Capture rain water 3. Use comfrey to boost soil nutrients 4. (My favorite) move the same tree/plant three or more times to the “right” spot.

Here in Hawaii it's doing well with full sun and I guess we have the rain (I did get the Russian one). Recently I smashed my foot on accident, and found out comfrey makes a good poultice for that, if you crush it, add a spoon of salt, drain the water and wrap the leaves under some cling wrap. I can vouch for it, it does feel soothing and speed up healing time. ⚕️
