Following!
I harvested my turmeric 2 days ago and am looking for ideas too...
If they went mouldy after dehydrating, perhaps they weren't quite dry enough? Or not stored dry/dark?
Those are beautiful temperatures for growing. No surprise your garden looks great (though you most definitely have had a hand in archieving that).
That's a beautiful story. You don't often hear of burlap sacks anymore.
You can try setting up a roadside stall to sell excess, or perhaps go to...
That sounds beautiful.
And helping the bees is a win-win. You help them, they help your garden thrive! We hope to in the future attract native (stingless) bees here.
It is indeed the heat, though I manage to make them bolt even in winter. It's not stopping me (yet) though!
Thanks for the tips!
All the beds look beautiful, both of you have a green thumb :D
Makes me jealous, I wish my partner was interested in gardening, haha. Thankfully he is interested in...
There is a size limit to messages on someone's profile, so I'll post it here @rubberchicken ;
Where to begin is a hard question to answer as it truly depends on your preferences. Seeing as you are a tropical gardener I would definitely recommend that thread. You'll see that Fruit & Vegetable...
Welcome to the forum @rubberchicken !
That sounds amazing! I hope it suits your purposes very well.
Having hobby farmers nearby can help you get used to the area by getting tips and tricks from them. On top of that you could possibly trade crops and seeds. Many hobby gardeners learn how to...
Oh wow! You're growing enough to feel a family! That's amazing :D
What are the temperatures/weather like now, after having the snow? Your garden looks like it's absolutely thriving.
Have you veer grown in this size/these quantities before? And what do you do with excess?
Wow...
You definitely have a green thumb! Look at how healthy everything looks 😍
I'm especially jealous of your lettuce - I can't seem to grow it (without bolting) for the life of me. It looks so yummy :D
Seeing this... I can only imagine what your country property will look like a couple...
I'm very surprised my plants never showed damage. Unless they were only in my 2 "empty" pots... I really want to know how to co-exist with them because they are very beautiful as an adult, but I don't want them damaging my plants.
Welcome to the forum @DebsStuff !
Hopefully you are feeling better now. I'm personally between my 2nd and 3rd year of gardening, and still enjoying it just as much as the day I started :D
I hear you @DThille , our house doesn't even have a pantry. It's driving me nuts honestly. Our "pantry" is a table in the corner of the house, with a smaller one under it to make it 2 tiered. I'd love me a proper kitchen and pantry.
Good luck!
Brainfog made it a little hard for me to find these for you, but mark has some pickling videos! I figured I'd add them in under here in case you hadn't seen them yet; most were made by a much younger Mark!
And a bonus egg one!
I'm from The Netherlands and to me a pantry is indeed also only a food storage. But if I had the space (and money) I think I'd love to do it the way Mark did too. That way you can leave out appliances that you don't want in your kitchen, ready for use. Especially with Mark being into (food)...
