Hi all,

Ive had some tissue culture bananas inpots sinceDecember and they are big enough to go into the garden. Should I keep them potted until spring or plant them out now. Ie June, SE Qld, Australia.
Will they be ok through the winter? We do get light frosts occasionally in winter.
Thanks
David

I'd leave it till spring just in case. Our bananas get smashed if a frost gets to them so imagine your little ones wouldn't fare too well.

My thought too. Just hope the pots will suffice
If in doubt, up pot until spring. I would not worry about cold ... We had the Snow Pocalypse this February with temps in the low teens - unheard of for the gulf coast of Texas. All my citrus, lychee, starfruit and others didn't survive, but the bananas .... we cut back to the ground and they are now 15 ft. tall and putting out pups !!!

Happy Gardening
