    Worm castings

I would mix with compost. The urine from the worms is fairly salty. I'd go 80 compost/20 worm castings. They are potent and so you don't have to go heavy on them.

Turn Kitchen Scraps into Compost in Just 90 minutes | Nagual Review

With 7 months of winter and 5 months of everything else, I'd give it a try.

    The Passers by

The bees do love the Stevo. However they come out only in force after the blossoms have dropped. We get some mason bees so it is about half- half bees to bird pollination.

    The Passers by

Some warblers that passed by early this spring before the bees were fully out. They come for a few days in May on their way to the boreal forest up north. Most are from Tennassee. Our spring time is a time of gale force winds so any photography during these conditions is quite challenging...

    My cat run build

I think that is a pretty nice build! Most people I know would just let their cats run around wild and hope for the best. But this way everyone wins. Good job.

    Sour Cherries

Hello all. Well I figured I'd post what I did with the sour cherries this year. We can't grow sweet types here as the season is too short. We got about 2.5 ice cream pails this year from one bush. The size was down as we are going through a drought this year. The nicest ones were canned. I find...

Hello from the land up over.

I have to net the sour cherries as the robins key in on them before they fully ripen. We do get black birds which attack the plums so we have to harvest the plums before fully ripe. If any cherries fall then the wood peckers come down from the trees... At this point the sparrows will sit on...

Hello from the land up over.

Thanks. However we tried to double the population in the last ten years and went broke in the process. Now retaining those immigrants is hard in a climate like this one. You have to be born into it to really put up with it. Yes and no on the green houses.. They will buy an extra 4 weeks at the...

Hello from the land up over.

Hello Stevo, I can't remember who said it but winter to a plant is simply drought conditions. All sap is pulled to the base and roots. Depending on how photo sensitive a plant is it may come out of dormancy early or if triggered by rains. If it does it must have a coping mechanism for dealing...

Hello from the land up over.

Thanks for the welcome Mark! We're limited in what we can grow as we're on expansive grey clay but what rain we get does not soak in so the wet spots can actually look lush. I've included a picture of our garden in summer to show the folks that growing is possible. My mother's place as you can...

Hello from the land up over.

I want to say hello. I followed Mark over from his You Tube videos. I am from Canada and am in the flat, windswept prairie land of Saskatchewan. I decided to join as Mark seems like a pretty decent fella and I am envious how the tropics can grow so much fruit. We're a drier climate that can hit...
