This is going to be a big HIT - it's gripping horror suspense that's for sure! I'm surprised they allowed such a full scene to be shown before the movie came out but I guess these smaller Aussie productions need to maximise the exposure to capture the OS audience. I feel a sequel coming already ;)

I like it aswell.... for me, it's hard to predict if it'd be a hit or not. Certainly will have a big following and will be one of those classic Australian movies, but not sure about the US commercial market etc.

Hmmm, you're probably right... the Yankees can be hit and miss with movies as they don't quite get some of the isms. But, if they market it as "Mad Max" like then there's a chance it could go viral turning into a cult classic.

Did you hear the film makers stuffed up the movie release and agreed to a scheduled release instead of just hitting the cinemas at once!?

As a consequence, Wyrmwood the movie was copied and is currently one of the biggest illegally shared torrents online.

What a remarkable lack of judgment that was! Apparently, because of the late and botched release these guys may not even make their money back (1 million dollars ) and have only taken 124k in ticket sales due to many already seeing the film online.

They are now pitching their hopes on dvd sales to make some profit which is pretty sad considering world wide critic reviews have been very good so this could have been a windfall for the movie makers instead it's a nightmare and an example of how NOT to release a film ...

Did you buy the dvd?
You're putting me in an awkward position Stevo :D let's just say yes I purchased the dvd from Booktopia...

Haven't heard or seen anything in the media or no facebook hype.
Yes, it must have been one of the worst Australian movie promotion efforts ever. Sure, it wasn't a Hollywood blockbuster but it deserved a lot more media recognition than it got!

I hope the guys who made the movie (and the actors) keep their heads up and keep going because it was a good production and an entertaining 90 mins IMHO.
