Hi all. We love tomatoes in our house. Absolutely love them.

Lockdown is here, holiday plans look to be dashed and my tax came in.

Bad combination of boredom and some disposable funds, a bit of hard yakka and here we are;

I see on a lot of tom's they say up to 2.4m - I'm about to test that out. Few trailers of dirt to go in (will take a bit of time - thanks back) and then I'll string the wire mesh up but just wanted to kick this off now.

Happy gardening

Awesome!
A trellis is never high enough in my opinion, but that might be because my plants get out of control sometimes, oops! In saying that though... if you can't reach the top it might be a bit too high. :p

Looking good Josh, I'll be selling some tomato seedlings on Sunday at the regenereat market in front of Cycle Station if you are after some ready to go plants. I have Roma & Cherry red cocktails ready. Also have a few other varieties of seeds that I haven't had the time or space to start yet- Garden Peach, Tigerella, Broad Ripple Yellow Currant & Golden Sunrise.

Thanks Andrew I'll keep that in mind. I have quite a few planted in the greenhouse, if these don't work out I would love to support you over the green shed. I have the heirloom mix, cherry mix and san marzanos from happy Valley. I wasn't able to get the super sweet 100 like James Prigioni recommends, I'd be all over that haha

Ouch, hopefully your plants are still okay!
Yeah they're fine, just not where we were hoping to have them as soil temps even in the greenhouse weren't high enough to germinate when expected. Was hoping to have the first round of tomatoes in by now but it is what it is.

For some reason the wife was preferring to water by watering can (think cos it takes longer heh) so for our anniversary today I decided to make some improvements to the single tap at the back of the house.

I added 3 taps - 1 on Trellzilla, 1 mid yard and 1 in the chook pen. Rather than run a heap of misting fittings I just went with a 30m drip hose. Happy wife
