I'm am expanding my tiny raised backyard garden this year and have been experimenting with what I can grow during our Summer season when most farmers take off. Currently I have potatoes (red and sweet), black eyed peas, dragon tongue beans, and bell peppers thriving. I did plant some cantaloupe, but I'm just holding my breath because of the rain... I'm really hoping the 2 watermelon plants I have will produce too. Anyway, I have absolutely loved finding Mark on YouTube and am thrilled to learn more every day!

I feel honored to have you respond so quickly! I got them from rareseeds.com. They have lots of fun options. I was looking initially for those mini blue popcorn seeds you did a video on. They had them too! Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge with us.

G'Day and welcome Mel.

If you have some time, share some pics of the veg and fruit patch with the forum members. Always keen to see how others have set up their patch and whats growing.

Enjoy the forum.

Hi there Mel, welcome.
re your cantaloupe and watermelon vines, spray them with the 10%milk mix to prevent all those fungal nasties taking hold on the leaves after this rain and a few sunny interludes. Make sure you get under every leaf.

I've never heard of milk mix. Will look into that. Thank you! They seem ok so far...they are little.

Hi! Unfortunately every picture I've tried uploading has been too big. Will have to figure out how to adjust that.

I meant full cream milk, not cream! That's milk with 3% cream in it.

Lost my beefsteak tomatoes to too much heat but cherry tomatoes did great as well as bell pepers, onions, sweet potato and sage. Heat starting to take its toll. Thought about the dragon tongue beans. Never seen them. I bet they look freaky. Wanting to purchase some birdie beds like Marc has but finances at retirement will dictate they type of raised beds and aquaponics i have.

My big tomatoes split so bad and bugs got in. My Everglades did beautifully though. I think I'll plant more next time.
