Our little fella comes into the chicken run with me, and isn't bothered at all with the girls.

Can I see some of your chucks?

ooow someone else who calls chooks, 'chucks'!

Aussies have a thing about using a word instead that sounds a bit like the word they should be using. ie Chooks & Chucks :D
I call to mine (when I have some), "chuck, chuck, chuckies, chuck, chuck, chuckies" in a high pitched baby(ish) voice. They seem to respond well to that sound.

Ours are usually waiting at the gate, and I greet them with a formal "Good morning ladies".
