Brazilian Cherry

Anyone have any experience with the Brazilian Cherry 🍒 the flavour as is can be rather tart with an unual after taste. Any jammers out there using these strange but very beneficial fruit.

The last time I ate these I got shooed away from someone's front lawn after doing a tree lopping job. Havent seen these in ages.

Not sure of their natural pectin level but you can always add some citrus peel to get it to set into jam. My wife does that with all kinds of strange things I bring home (she recently made quince & persimmon jam - its freaking amazing).

Beautiful fruit changes from green to orange to red so plump and juicy..

The inside is very soft and juicy with a seed the size of a small pea in the middle.

Bright red fruit when ripe
Not to everyone’s tastes
I don’t mind the odd one though

Looks like a Eugenia to me .... does it have a bit of latex in taste? they might taste better as the plant matures
