Thanks Mark! I'll have another go with this one! Think I'll sacrifice a couple store bought cukes this time! Till I get the flavor right!
Like Oskar said! It hurts to grow something only to have it become inedible! ☹️
Well... The pickling did not go well! Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too salty! Ughhhh! My tongue shriveled INSTANTLY! Back to the drawing board in the recipe! Anyone got any good ones? I like a sweet/sour flavor.
Cukes are like shoes for me... Let me explain...
You can never have too many, they always fit/grow, there are different styles/types for every occasion!
Big day in the yards today! Mowed and put some weed mat down in my top garden. Put in a couple of climbing vine thingys... No idea what they are. They were cuttings gifted to me. My chard and radishes are doing great, the beets didn't sprout, so I put in some sugarloaf seedlings to flesh it out...
Here are my diddies from about a month ago... They are now fully grown and not keen on cuddles anymore! Pink bill is a girl KOKO, and orange bill is a male DEE DEE. I love having the crazy things running around! ☺️
I have changed my planting a little bit this year. I've added some useless...
Here is part of my blackberry! It's ginormous! With a volunteer nasturtium peeking out from underneath! Hehe
@Mark I have an iPhone, so I use the podcast app to listen to my podcasts. I have no idea about android... To think I studied IT 2o+ years ago! Shame on me not keeping up with technology!
Back from the dead!
I've been so lazy lately! Well... Lazy in updating online! At home I have been very busy!
I got a couple of pekins to add to my 7 chooks! Ended up with a male and a female... Now hubby is worried we may end up with many more ducks in the near future... Hehe
I have begun...
Thanks guys! I'm am so very happy with where I'm going with a little tiny bit of self sufficiency! It was mail day at work today! One of the

My girls are too spoilt to...
View into the greenhouse:
Had a big tidy up, planted out a heap of stuff. I have spaghetti squash, corn, and a heap of Roma tomatoes still to plant out.
I ordered a bunch of grow bags off eBay the other day, so will do another plant next weekend. I'm running out of compost! Heheh
Thank you for so many ideas ClissAT!!!!!
I have already rolled up one side of the greenhouse and the front is totally open also! I have a roll of plastic netting stuff that is my project for this weekend actually!
Thank you for the broccoli tip! I'll definitely do that next planting! Yes the...
Yeah, I'm super happy with the greenhouse! It was a $60 eBay special! Same quality plastic as the bunnings ones! And they sell the cover separately if I need to replace it! You can't really see, but I have lined that left side with chookwire to train my cukes up! And I stole the bakers rack up...
I have never been one for plants inside... I just never seem to be able to keep anything alive indoors. The only exception being a few tropical plants whist I lived in Ayr, North Queensland.
Recently I have been experimenting with sprouting sweet potato for an indoor plant. It's actually...
How fascinating Mark! Thank you for finding out for me!
The grow bags were $20 ea. not super cheap, but quite reasonable, considering they were delivered to my door! They are some sort of super heavy duty felt type stuff, very well made!
And the yes the Italian tommies are the big sucker size...
