So sad about your little hen. I hope you have been able to make your pen fox proof since then.

I assume you are referring to the Aussie forums.
There's another one called Backyard Poultry based in SE Qld that was spawned off BYC or the other way around. I know there is bad blood between them.

I used to be on BYP but got cyber bullied there heaps for having alternate views (even though mine were quite mild by comparison) & was forced off eventually.
I also have a considerable knowledge of poultry & their psychology which upset the vet type members of BYP. My forum name said it all & got their hackles up from the get go I think. :)

I have joined BYP, ClissAT, and they do seem to be a closed bunch. Sometimes I have not received a reply to a post asking something. Luckily google is so helpful, as was reading the Happy Hens book.

Isn't BYC an American forum?
Bamboochicken, I guess you have a fair plot of land to have that much poultry. I'm not familiar with Bovan Brown hens, are they meat or egg birds? We have 9 ISA Brown layers, and 6 Light Sussex pullets almost ready to lay.

So that would imply that you are also 'over there'? :)

The 'Bovan' Brown might be a commercial name for the ISA Brown developed at the France uni. It would be the name they are sold under in USA. In Australia they are sold under the name Isa Brown.
